Lynn Fisher
Over five intensive days, Lynn worked with her peers to explore innovative solutions and strategies for a range of organizational challenges—including emergency and disaster response. Of note was a seminar on artificial intelligence (AI), where she discovered how AI can be integrated into TVA’s emergency response to improve training exercises and enhance the safety of the Tennessee Valley’s citizens. “We’re constantly doing training exercises, so it was incredibly valuable to see how we can use AI to enhance our operations, and ultimately keep our people safe.” Another highlight for Lynn was the group trip to FEMA Region 1, where she witnessed effective disaster response operations firsthand, reconnected with former colleagues, and gained new perspectives on crisis management.
Still, for Lynn, the experience was about more than mastering new skills—the course also allowed her to network with accomplished global professionals and build connections with some of the foremost experts in her field. “Just meeting people from all over the world and looking at how they solve problems has been really beneficial,” she reflected. “I am super excited to take that those insights back to TVA. My expectations for this experience have been met and exceeded. I’m already thinking about who I can send from my team next year.”
